Mastiii 4 – movie review

Crass, boggy humour

In a single word, Mastiii 4 is – Atrocious. Elaborated, this adult comedy film is full of crass boggy humour offering you outdated gags and zero laughs. This franchisee is nowhere near the first part Masti and it just delivers more sickening feeling than comedy.

Except for Riteish Deshmukh who puts up foolish looks quite naturally and acts like a weirdo (realistically), Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani overdo their parts and appear unreal. It is a pity to see such brilliant producers and the director who have come up with a film that is laden with toilet humor, loud performances and gags which have already been circulated in WhatsApp groups long time ago.

Franchise fatigue at its lowest standard

Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri who is also involved with the story and screenplay, the fourth installment in the adult comedy franchise reunites the familiar trio — Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani — as Amar, Meet, and Prem, three husbands seeking escape from their monotonous marriages.

Love Visas – REJECTED!

Creating a spark in hearts of the frustrated trio Amar, Meet and Prem, enters the character of Kamraj (Arshad Warsi) and his sexy wife Menka (Nargis Fakhri). Kamraj gets a ‘Love Visa’ from his wife to enjoy his sexual life with other females for a week once a year. Would you believe that?

Mastiii 4 is all cringe, no comedy

What follows is intended to be a chaotic comedy of errors, but instead lands as a charmless, distasteful  caper. While the actresses Elnaaz Norouzi, Shreya Sharma and Ruhi Singh bring some energy, freshness and oomph;  their characters are sketched with exaggeration, Tusshar Kapoor with his cameo as Pablo Putinwa brought some excitement just for a while.

The joke’s on the audience

The film has gloss, high production values, a few foot-tapping songs and good choreography. Unfortunately it is the pair of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria who have given us the romantic iconic film starring Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit’s Dil (1990), Anil Kapoor – Madhuri’s Beta (1992), Raja (1995), a really rollicking love story Ishq (1997), the emotional classic Mann (1999), fresh comedy film Masti (2004) and a genuine comedy Dhamaal (2007). Mota bhai, this film is really disappointing.

All throughout this charmless, repulsive outing’s running time of 141 minutes one was expecting something fresh and something realistically sensuous would come up in the next scene… and then the next one…. then finally giving up and waiting for the film to end! Waste of time and the ticket money.
